Air-Operated Double Diaphragm Pumps

An Air Operated Double Diaphragm (AODD) Pump is a reciprocating positive displacement pump that uses compressed air, as opposed to an electric motor, as a power source. The pump has two chambers each with its own inlet check valve, outlet check valve and diaphragm. These are linked together by a shaft, allowing simultaneous movement, hence the name double diaphragm pump.

As the compressed air moves from one chamber, fluid is pushed out of the other chamber, into the outlet manifold, which then fills the opposite fluid chamber via the inlet manifold. The chambers are alternately filled and emptied by the movement of the diaphragms and the process repeats rapidly which delivers reduced pulsation at the outlet.

Pumps Direct are proud to supply a range of air operated double diaphragm pumps from leading brands including Graco, Binks and Wagner. Graco’s Husky range stands out as one of the most reliable and efficient pumps in the market.
